Rockliffe Manor is awarded the Silver School Games Mark

We are delighted to announce that Rockliffe Manor have been awarded the School Games SILVER Mark Award. The School Games Mark is a government led award scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. As part of our application, we were asked to fulfill criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased to have been recognised for our success in these areas. We are extremely proud of our pupils and staff for their dedication to all aspects of school sport and we are delighted that the hard work of everyone at Rockliffe Manor has been rewarded.

Book Week 2019 Posted on: 08/03/2019

Book Week 2019

This week marked our annual Rockliffe Manor Book Week. Throughout this week the children have engaged in many exciting events and activities to further inspire and encourage their love of reading. To begin the week we opened the doors to our ever popular Book Fair where children were able to browse and purchase books, with a portion of all sales being donated back to school in book vouchers. We are pleased to share that this added up to a grand total of £557.94 which we can now use to purchase lots of lovely new books. We also launched our bookmark competition where for the donation of £1.00 children could design a bookmark to be in with a chance to win some fantastic prizes! This raised another £54.00 for our school fund and we would like to congratulate all who took part! We were also lucky enough to have author David Lucas visit us. David delivered hugely exciting assembly to the whole school as well us some really enjoyable and informative writing workshops. On Tuesday we held our annual 'Dad's Breakfast' event, where Dads, Grandads, Uncles and other male relatives were invited to share a delicious breakfast and a book with their children - thank you to everyone who joined us! Later on in the week children and staff celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite book characters and on Friday afternoon, to mark the end of Book Week, our children all took part in 'Buddy Reading' where they joined up with their friends from another class to spend time and share a book with eachother. What a wonderful week!
