Posted on: 04/10/2018Year 2 Local Visit - Puddingstone GrangeYear 2 had an amazing time spreading happiness at Puddingstone Grange this morning. They had previously visited last week, and after joining the residents in the garden for some songs, had asked questions to find out what happiness means to them. From their gathered responses, Year 2 then spent the week carefully planning enjoyable activities in preparation for their second visit today. The children and the residents had a wonderful time taking part in these activities and spending time together, achieving Year 2's aim of promoting happiness for all!
Posted on: 28/09/2018Year 6 Trip - Natural History MuseumLinked to their core text, Year 6 visited the Natural History Museum today to take part in an evolution workshop. They looked at a range of different fossils and also learnt about and discussed the adaptations that have taken place on our planet over many millions of years.
Posted on: 28/09/2018Y2 Trip - Greenwich ParkTo link with their core text, 'Happiness is a watermelon on your head’, today Year 2 visited Greenwich Park in their own pursuit of happiness. They met up with their friends from Foxfield and together they all enjoyed a fantastic, fun-filled day!
Posted on: 13/09/2018Year 3 Trip - Thames Explorer TrustAs part of their learning this term, Year 3 are looking at the River Thames and it's impact on our lives, and also how we are looking after the environment. Today they visited the River Thames at the Trafalgar Rowing Centre in Greenwich to take part in a riverside workshop run by the Thames Explorer Trust. Year 3 investigated the river's foreshore and also did an experiment comparing the cleanliness of the river water with that of their own saliva - which produced some very surprising results!
Posted on: 15/06/2018Y6 School JourneyToday we welcomed back our Year 6 class after their school journey to Swanage, Dorset. They had a fantastic week away, visiting the beach, Corfe Castle and Putlake farm, as well as taking part in lots of other fun activities such as a team building low ropes course, a quarry investigation, orienteering and even a camp fire. Back at the centre the children also enjoyed playing games, spending time with their friends and a last night evening disco. All of the children had a fantastic week with their classmates and made memories that will last a lifetime.
Posted on: 18/05/2018Nursery Trip - Cooks Farm AllotmentsTo link with their core text 'Olivers Vegetables' our Nursery class took an exciting walk to Cooks Farm Allotments today. They had lot of fun digging up potatoes, planting seeds and learning all about growing plants and vegetables.
Posted on: 18/05/2018Year 2 Trip - Growing Greenwich ProjectOver the last month Year 2 have been taking part in the 'Growing Greenwich Project' which is run by community gardeners. The project aims to involve local people in the environment to create and improve our local green spaces. Year 2 have twice visited the spiral garden near Plumstead Common to help the gardeners there to weed and plant. They have really enjoyed helping and supporting the community gardeners to enhance the local area - thank you Year 2!
Posted on: 14/05/2018Y1 Trip - Litter PickingAs part of the 'Great British Spring Clean' our Year 1 class were invited to take part in a litter pick on nearby Plumstead Common. Before setting off to the common Carole from Greenwich council came in to talk to Year 1 about the litter pick and also about the importance of recycling and caring for our environment. Year 1 then walked over to Plumstead Common where they met with a park ranger who provided them with all the equipment needed to collect any litter. The children did excellently helping to clean up the common by collecting and disposing of lots of litter. Thank you Year 1!
Posted on: 11/05/2018Y5 Wrotham Overnight StayThis afternoon our Year 5 children returned from their overnight stay at the Wide Horizons Margaret MacMillan centre in Wrotham, Kent. The children spent yesterday and this morning taking part in various fun activities including, a crate stack challenge, archery and the 'Blind Line' blindfolded obstacle course. They also enjoyed playing pool and football during their free time. We are glad they all had a fabulous time and are pleased to welcome them (and the teachers) back to school after their exciting adventure. Welcome back Year 5!
